VOLUNTEER

Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas needs attorneys and other legal professionals to provide civil legal help low-income clients in North and West Texas. Our law firm employs attorneys and paralegals who help clients with a variety of legal issues, but they cannot do it alone. Our firm depends upon and appreciates the assistance of attorneys, paralegals, and others who are interested in helping to ensure access to our civil justice system. Some 20 percent of Texans in our 114-county service area are at or below the Federal poverty level, and cannot afford to hire a private attorney to help them with such critical legal needs as impending foreclosure or eviction, family violence, and consumer problems. You can help by volunteering at one of our many legal clinics by interviewing prospective clients, taking cases for representation, or providing legal advice and counsel. LANWT offers training, support, mentoring, and malpractice coverage for our lawyer volunteers.
If you are willing to help, please complete the “Volunteer Sign-Up” form below. A staff member will work with you to match your volunteer interests with our needs.
“And while most everyone can pitch in at a food bank, park, or library, only lawyers can provide legal services which are often the most critically needed.” –Rachel Kingrey
